Phoenix Zoo

We explored the Phoenix Zoo today—and it was by far one of the most immersive zoos we’ve ever visited. Every twist and turn offered an interactive experience: we ducked into caves to view Andean bears, strolled through a replica of a Central American town as tropical birds perched on nearby branches, and wandered desert landscapes showcasing Arizona’s diverse wildlife.

Each section was thoughtfully designed to immerse you in nature and highlight the animals that call it home. We highly recommend a visit!

Just a mile from the zoo is a short hike called “Hole in the Rock.” It offers stunning views of the mountains, the desert, and the city of Phoenix itself. The picturesque landscape was well worth ruining my favorite sandals!
